Wash Care Tips

Here are some tips for washing and caring for a silk scarf:

Use the right detergent: Use a mild, pH neutral, non-enzymatic detergent or a detergent specifically made for silk. Avoid harsh alkaline detergents or chlorine bleach, which can damage silk fibers.

Hand wash: Hand wash your silk scarf in cold water.

Wash separately: Wash silk scarves separately to prevent color staining.

Soak: Soak the scarf for no more than five minutes.

Swish gently: Swish the scarf slowly and gently to wash it thoroughly.

Rinse: Rinse the scarf thoroughly with cold water until the water runs clear and all the soap is gone.

Add conditioner: To help keep the scarf feeling hydrated, add a fabric conditioner or a small amount of hair conditioner to the final rinse.

Remove excess moisture: Roll the scarf in a towel to remove excess moisture. Wringing silk can damage its fibers.

Lay flat to dry: Lay the scarf flat to dry.

Avoid direct sunlight: Don't leave your silk scarf in direct sunlight for too long.

To wash and care for a wool scarf, you can:

Hand wash: Use a small amount of wool-friendly detergent in a basin of lukewarm water. Gently agitate the water, then soak the scarf for a few minutes. Avoid wringing or rubbing the scarf, as this can cause it to lose its shape.

Rinse and dry: Rinse the scarf in cold water, then gently squeeze out excess water. Lay the scarf flat on a towel to air dry. Avoid hanging it to dry, as the weight of the water can distort the shape.

Remove pilling: Use a cashmere comb or wool razor to gently remove any pilling. Pilling is a natural process that occurs in all natural yarns after a certain amount of wear.

Use a fabric spray: Use a wool-specific fabric spray to keep your scarf smelling fresh and to protect it from moths.

Use a cool iron: If needed, you can use a cool iron on your scarf when it's dry.

Avoid the sun: Avoid drying your scarf in the sun, as the sun can dull the colors.

If your washing machine has a wool cycle, you can use that setting. If not, you can use the cold water wash or delicate cycle. Use a mild, neutral detergent, preferably one that's Woolmark recommended

Wash Care – Modal Wool Scarves

To keep your modal wool scarf soft and long-lasting, we recommend gentle care. Hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent, avoiding any harsh chemicals or bleach. Do not wring or twist—instead, gently press out excess water and lay flat to dry. Keep away from direct heat or sunlight to preserve the fabric’s natural softness and shape.
